Tran Thi Thuy Dung is New Miss Vietnam 2008

Hoi An City, VIETNAM - Tran Thi Thuy Dung was crowned Miss Vietnam 2008 this Sunday. She's 18 years old, 1m78 m-tall, and hails from Da Nang City.

Miss Vietnam 2008 will now get ready to represent her country in Miss World 2008, in Johannesburg, South Africa, on December 13.

The first runner-up is Phan Hoang Minh Thu from the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong and the second runner-up is Nguyen Thuy Van, from Hanoi.

The top ten beauties were chosen after 30 contestants performed in ao dai, swimwear and night gown.

Miss Tourism Vietnam 2008

Miss Tourism Vietnam (Vietnamese: Hoa hậu du lịch Việt Nam) is the first significant event with a nationwide large-scale and will be held annually. The contest was held the first time in 2008.

Phan Thi Ngoc Diem beat 35 contestants to become the new Miss Tourism Vietnam at the pageant’s finale held at Ho Chi Minh City’s Phan Dinh Phung Sports Complex.

In addition to the crown, Diem, a student from the Ho Chi Minh City Foreign Trade University, won a VND100 million (US$5,965) prize and a trip to Europe.

She may represent Vietnam at the 2008 Miss Tourism International.

The first and second runners-up were Nguyen Minh Ngoc Tram from Ben Tre Province and Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao from Hai Phong City respectively.

Awards were also handed out for other categories including Miss Ao Dai, Miss Eloquence, Miss Congeniality and Miss Swimsuit.

Represent Vietnum in Miss Tourism International 2008

Phan Thi Ngoc Diem, Miss Tourism Vietnam 2008, is Represent Vietnum in Miss Tourism International 2008.

The 12th Annual Miss Tourism International Pageant will be held at Sunway Pyramid Convention Centre, Sunway Resort Hotel & Spa Grand Ballroom on December 31, 2008 at Malaysia. The winner will be crowned by outgoing titleholder Miss Tourism International 2006, Manea Florina of Romania.
